This threaded replacement wand will require you to cut 8/32" fine threads in your original controller. Your OEM mirror controller is made of a very soft metal so one can often install these as "self tapping".1967 and 1968 are different, see comparison picture. New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. C3AZ-4730-B Rubber bumper that mounts to the metal axle snubber on Ford nine inch rear ends on 1967 - 1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. Good used part with solidly mounted metal threaded stud. Pinion bumper. The casting number seen on the 67-68 is C3AA-4906-C, this version has fine threads. The version most often seen on the 69-70 is C9OA-4906-A. We think that this jumper or adapter wiring lead, was used in 1967 when the Neutral safety switch changed from two separate plugs to a single square 4 combination plug. There could have been an overlap where the plug from the firewall to the 14401 main under dash harness changed to the single square 4 combination plug. We have also observed the two separate neutral safety switch plugs plugged directly into the updated square 4 plug.
