Description

Correct for Cougars built after 1-2-07 with the stop lamp relay located under dash. XR7 and standard Cougars use the same rear wiring harness to the taillights. This tail light harness is a grade "A" premium grade harness that is not sun damaged, spliced or damaged in anyway. The 1157 taillight bulb sockets are sold separately.

67 Cougar XR7 TailLight Wiring Harness Grade A Used

My sequential didn't work correctly for a while and I had gone over the all the troubleshooting efforts. I narrowed it down to the actual harness because I could see that the PO spliced in something previously and there were leftovers of red power wiring here and there on the taillight harness. I decided to pull the old harness up to the dash connection and then order this grade A. Yes, it is not cheap, but it is really good quality and already bench tested. I am glad that I did. Once i installed it into my 67 the sequential worked flawlessly for the first time since I have had the car. No, it was not grounding or connections. It absolutely was the harness itself. Sometimes it is just better to NOT take the cheap cut to fix something.

67 Cougar XR7 Tail light harness replacement

I recently ordered this as a replacement for the butchered original in my car from the previous owner trying to go the cheap route. My sequential were not working on either side and the PO had changed the bulb sockets to another style, and spliced multiple wires, and made other changes to do what I don't know. What I do know is that when I took the time to replace this harness with an original used grade A, everything now works as it should!
