" First of all I would like to thank you for all the helpful videos you have provided on ur website. In your video for 1969 door glass installation you state that one would be tempted to take out the factory glue and as you know right after that you recommend leaving the old glue in place to avoid using a lot more glue and leaving it there helps with centering. My daughter and I restored a 1969 Cougar. In our restoration process we used 3M 08641 channel bonding and sidelight adhesive to attach the cast aluminum brackets to the tempered side/door glass. We followed the procedure in the video. Last winter, while in storage, it got really cold(-30F) and both door windows blew out at different times. When I reached out on a couple forums I was told that I had probably adjusted the the windows too tight. We bought new glass, replaced them and when it got really cold a few weeks ago it happened again . This time I made sure both windows were cracked open and in a relaxed state. I contacted 3M for advice and talked to to 2 different reps. they both stated that the old adhesive needs to be completely removed from the brackets before gluing them to the new glass. Both of these conversations were done in the form of a chat which I have saved and attached to this email in case you are interested in reading them. Please don't take this as a complaint about the video but more like me sharing my misfortune to be helpful for someone else.
Thanx, Steve"
