Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
The wand will be intact on this grade "A" driver side (left hand) remote mirror and the chrome will be free of pits. Notice the 1970 mirrors differ from 1969 in that the wand exits the door panel at a 90 degree angle. Rarely do we have a mirror this nice but you can get in line for the next one that becomes available by selecting the "notify me option" and we will email you when one comes in. There is no passenger side mate to this mirror or any chrome mirror found on a 69-70 Cougar.
Ford part # D0WY-17696-A.
*NOTE* If you have a blank area where your color code is supposed to be typed on your 1970 door data decal, then you have a "special order" paint color. Because sport mirrors came pre-painted from the supplier (and it would be way too difficult for the supplier to paint one mirror at a time) this chrome mirror would have been in put in place of the painted mirror. The retail window sticker would show a credit of $2.60 which is the value difference between the more expensive sport mirror and the chrome remote mirror. On the dealer's factory invoice for 1970 a credit of $2.05 would be given. From all that I can ascertain no credit was given for the deletion of the passenger side sport mirror on special order paint Eliminators. The Eliminator is the only Cougar in 1970 that came standard with two mirrors.
