This strip has a series of five retaining clips that hold the headlining panel to the roof panels as seen on page 14 of the sun roof manual.This is for the 1971-73 Mercury Cougar with factory sunroof. This clip goes on the upper end of your column and keeps your steering shaft from moving around when you pull up on your steering wheel.

Used lower shaft fixed steering column found from 1968-69 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This is the portion that mates with the upper shaft that bolts to the steering coupler. 1968-69 lower shafts are 15-1/2 inches in overall length. They also have a lower flange with flat sides. If you are doing a concours correct restoration then these would not be for you as they have been "over restored" to a mirror like finish.
