If you happen to have a set of three NOS wheel lip mouldings and purchase the fourth as a restored piece from us it will visually fit right in. Restored is never as good as NOS as the polishing process will make the part thinner which means it will be more prone to damage than an un-restored original or NOS trim part.
Note! Road trash of all sorts, sand, gravel, etc. ends up in the gutter to the right hand side of the road. The front tire tends to form a vacuum and sucks stuff away from the curb into the path of the rear tire, that spits it into the fender, thus damaging the delicate aluminum trim.
Believe it or not, 85% of all flat tires occur on the right rear. The crowning of the road causes debris to move toward the gutter. Most flats happen when the front tire throws debris into the path of the rear tire. If the tire blows out, the tire tends to eat the fender trim on the way out. All things add up to making the RR wheel lip moulding the most difficult to obtain.
Due to the difficulty in obtaining trim we no longer sell these without first having you send us your cores.
*NOTE* If you have questions about your cores, check out our video below.
