A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality

According to the MPC, this "Transmission Kick Down Control Shaft Rod" is used on all C6 Cougars and Mustangs in 1969, including the 390 and 428 Cobra Jet. Our research and in hand examples off original Cougars would differ. Because of the different intake manifold used on the 390, Autolite carburetor vs. Holley and different exhaust manifolds we have found that the 1969 390 IP with C6 is distinctly different than the 428CJ and stands on its own by not interchanging with any other Ford product. This is the correct kick down rod for the 428CJ.
