After several years of working exclusively with Tony Augustine in MO, we can highly recommend him as one of the most knowledgeable builders of these unique columns in the world.
We now exclusively send all of the columns we sell as rebuilt to Tony for service.

Used tilt - tilt away column shaft for the 1968-69 Mercury Cougar or Ford
Mustang. This inner shaft has a tight U-joint and perfect steering wheel
mounting threads. Overall length is 23-5/8 inches long. Comes as shown without bushings for lower shaft.
Ford called this part the Steering Column Shaft Assembly. These were not serviced in pieces, but an upper and lower assembly. Because the plastic pins are most likely compromised, we sell upper and lower shafts separately. You can use a fixed lower shaft in place of a tilt shaft in order to use the common fixed rag joint.
