    Here is a pair of cast aluminum running cat valve covers for the 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7-G with the F code 302-2V or J code 302-4V engine. Original valve sand cast covers, not a reproduction. Originally cast by Buddy Bar, for Shelby American Inc. These would be considered EARLY versions of the small block running cat valve covers. Sand casting was not as efficient, used more material, making them heavy, compared to modern die casting.

    Ford part # C8WY-6582-B, Shelby American part number S7WE-6582-B.
