This is an OEM original with 3/8"-16 threads. Overall length according to the MPC is 9 inches, with 3-1/4 inches being threaded but we have found almost without fail, the actual length is 8" with 3 1/4" of threads. We also carry the OEM hold down wing nut or spinner nut Mercury Cougar part number B9AZ-1462-A. Additionally, look for the wheel centering plate or disc, part number C5ZZ-1424-A. Item for sale in this section is only the J-bolt.

This spring has two functions. The first is to connect the rod that opens the latch to the deck lock cylinder. The second is to put tension on the cylinder so as to return the key to its perpendicular resting place after unlocking the deck lid. Check out this video

This air cleaner was used on the 1967 GT Cougar only. It was possible to order a 390 GT motor for your Cougar without ordering the 390 GT package. Cougars equipped with the 390 6.5 Litre engine that did not come with the GT package would have used the air cleaner with a long tapered snorkel and painted lid. Additionally this lid was used for the Canadian export Cougars and Mustangs in 1968, they continued to use the open emissions system. Nice clean lid with no holes or other noticeable damage.
