    Description

Reproduction center cap adapter kit for installing Legendary center caps on the Legendary Series GT9 wheels. The spacing is a bit deeper on these specific wheels, so this adapter kit comes with special adapters and longer screws.

This kit is intended to make original and after market Mag 500 and Style Steel wheels center caps work on the Legendary Series GT9 wheels

Please note that the included screws may not fit the thread pattern of some center caps.  The plates will still work, but you may need to source screws with the necessary thread pattern to match your center caps.  We have noticed that the thread pattern on mounting screws included with the reproduction center caps vary from one run to another, so the screws included with this kit may or may not match a brand new set of center caps.

I should have read the warning on the WCCC website before I nearly ruined one of the expensive center caps. Tap and die set allowed me to recover from my mistake. An assortment of screws that fit the same brand of center caps would fix this. Also, some instructions would be nice. Even if you get the correct screws, it's almost like you need three hands to put these on correctly. Can think of a few ways to make the design of the adapter kit easier to install. On this front, the name Scott Drake stamped on the parts at least gives you a specific name to curse at when you're struggling to install something that should be easier to install if the designer gave it a little more thought. All that being said, I love the product and the end result. Looks stunning once you are done.

I purchased this adapter kit for the LEGENDARY 1967 / 1968 SHELBY - ALUMINUM WHEELs I had purchased, to go with the Black Mercury Man center caps. Unfortunately, the screws that come with it are incorrect.

It appears M4-.70 x 12 are the correct screws for my application after trying various screws at Lowe’s.

    Question
    Asked:
The kit comes with 4 black machine screws and 2 sheet metal screws. What are the silver sheet screws for. It would appear the black machine screws are to attach the adapter plate to the center piece. BTW they do not fit as described in one of the reviews.

    WCCC Admin Answered:
This kit is intended to fit a variety of wheels and caps that are made differently. The manufacturer of this kit includes screws for the various caps this kit is intended to work with, but for some of the caps the thread pattern seem to vary between production runs of the same cap. So for one run the screws provided fit, but for the next run we get, the provide screws do not match the thread pattern of the caps. In either case the plates still work.

These will only work with the Legendary Series Wheels. We do not currently have any that work with other wheels.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
