Description

Rear seat back or upper cushion from any 1967-70 Mercury Cougar. Minimal rust, solid, just needs clean up and upholstery. We usually leave the upholstery on the frame when we ship.

Replaces Ford part number C7WB-6566700. This part number or engineering number would have originally been stamped into a tag that was attached to the back side of the seat. There are claims that this part will also work in the Mustang coupe, but the 67 - 70 Mustang would have originally had a seat with a C7ZB-6566700 engineering number stamped in a tag on the back of it and the 64 - 66 Mustang Coupe would have originally had a seat with a C4ZB-6566700 engineering number on a (cardboard?) tag on the back of it. The fact that these each have a unique engineering number would indicate that there was some difference between the factory delivered seats.

If 67 Cougar rear upper seat frame fits a 67 Mustang, then wouldn't this also fit 65-70 Mustang?

None of us have actually tried to put the 67-70 Cougar rear upper seat frame into a Mustang, so we can not say for certain if they fit. The Master Parts Catalog does not show this part number for the Cougar/Mustang, so we can not use that to cross reference the applications. We do know that the ones out of the Cougar are stamped with a Cougar specific engineering number, which would lead one to believe that there is some difference between the Mustang and the Cougar rear upper seat frame, but they still might "fit".
