Bright! Yes! No issues to install because these bulbs are a quality piece! I needed brake lights that people could actually see in the daylight and these perform better than any other bulbs or LED’s I’ve tried. I did install the digital time adjustable flashers and have the Shelby tail light wire harness with sequential module I fabricated. I now have confidence the other drivers will see the lights, no question. Jim from Pa.

The however is that they are definitely not plug and play. It isn't mentioned on the details page that you WILL need an LED flasher. Ask me how I know. Fortunately I had three already and replaced the original in the Mustang which brings me to a second however. You cannot leave the original 1157 amber bulbs in front. If both are present blinkers work haphazard if at all. They work if you leave the fronts empty. They worked, but poorly, with a pair of Sylvania LED ambers I had but were dimmer than the 1157 bulbs. This is why I downgraded fit because you have more work to do. I have ordered the amber LED here to match the rears and will review once they are in. Given this I ordered two pairs since I don't think there is any proof that the bulbs in the front of my 68 Cougar (with electronic sequential flasher) will work when I swap in the red LEDs in the rear. We will wait a few days now. As far as brake lights go they ARE much brighter but I need blinkers.
Great product. True plug and play. Very bright at a glance makes you think there is a new European car in front of you.
I bought these for my Cougar, but they are such an excellent product I'm now putting them in all of my old Fords. Its a safety issue, these are vastly brighter than the old 1157's and beside looking great makes your turn signals and brake lights immensely brighter...which is a big deal now that everybody is used to the brightness of modern cars taillights. Bonus points are that the LED's have a very low amp draw and don't generate any head like the old bulbs...these are just flat out easier on your entire electrical system. You can find LED bulbs cheaper on Ebay, but they aren't the same as these and flat aren't as good...buy them from WCCC.
I install these all of my old cars and trucks. Not only look great, but the extra visibility makes it a great safety feature.
I replaced all 6 in both of my 67 Cougars. Installation was nothing but the results are outstanding!! Numerous comments on how bright these are. They are a little costly but the difference is well worth the investment. And to think these bulbs have a 50,000 hour life span, they will outlast the car! If you are thinking about making the change, stop! There is no need to waste your time thinking about it, just do it! Enough said!
The light they put out is perfect, much brighter and more like a modern car with halogen or LED tail lights. Unlike incandescent bulbs, brake and turn signals are easily seen on a bright day. Install was easy and they fit the existing sockets perfectly.
I picked up a set to help improve the visibility of my tail lights. With these bad boys, "the future is so bright, I gotta wear shades." I have a 1969 Eliminator but please be sure to check the application/notes! I misread them as with a 69 Cougar needing an electronic sequencer (which I had installed) however you need the updated logic board and flasher. I don't fault WCCC for that as the information was there, I was just speed reading and not paying attention. Once I got all the right components installed, everything worked GREAT.
