The videos don't really do justice to the difference between, incandescent, LED and these "PLASMA" bulbs. But I will verify that, although a bit pricier than other LEDs, THESE are WELL WORTH the money. I recently shot a video of these, in our '68 XR7, in direct sunlight! There's NO missing these brake lights! Whether she's a "driver" or a "show car", unless you're competing for concours, consider these a MUST HAVE upgrade! (Along with the solid state sequencer)
These are the best cost/installation/benefit tradeoff since my parents bought me a pair of snow tires in 1969 in upstate NY. Their brightness and color is perfect and uniform across all 6. In addition to the obvious visibility benefits for vehicles to your rear, you may find yourself operating your turn signals in the driveway so you can hop out and dig the view from out back.
I purchased these several years ago for my 1967 Cougar XR7 that was undergoing extensive restoration. The car is now on the open road and these very bright modern red LEDs bring me peace of mind when driving. I am confident cars following me will have no problem seeing my brake lights even on a very sunny day. Excellent product, no issues installing and still as bright as ever. My sequential turn signals functioned just fine as well.
Restored our 69 Shelby and burned up 3 turn signal switches, after triple checking all wiring and talking to Vic at Cougars Unlimited we decided to convert to these LED lights and the proper sequencer, all I can say is wish I had done this last year, they work great and no more fried switches, Thanks
Best Tail lamps ever, I put these in a 68 GT/CS Mustang, needs 3 lamps each side like a Cougar. Unbelievable, like a moder car taillights, fantastic definition with Brake lights, even with night lights on. Don's video is great but real life is amazing. Just buy these you will not regret it.
My first experience in the LED tail light arena was not only REALLY expensive, but a major disappointment. Let's just say, I could buy about 4 of the 6 packs here for what I spent. I was searching for something to replace them, and stumbled on these. Having sold our Cougar to these folks years ago, I had a feeling of trust going this route. Let's just say that my '71 Challenger looks fantastic with them and they work great. Well enough, I'm ordering another set for my convert Challenger, and a couple sets for my Mopar buddies Charger as well. Nice product guys.... Thank you! W
only 4 of 6 worked necessitating me having to mail them back at my expense therefore raising my cost per unit
I put these in my 69 and 67 Chargers. I replaced the tail light bulbs and it worked with no additional work. If you replace more than the tail lights you will need a low load flasher. Well worth the money and takes the load off the alternator/battery quite well
much better I can see
These plugged into the rear tail lights easily and worked perfectly without upgrading the flasher. When the headlights switched on, these are a little brighter. The brake lights, however, are significantly brighter. You could see the reduced drain on the ammeter when comparing before and after this switch. Eases the load on the finicky headlight switch internal breaker.
