    Description

Rear defog conversion kit for any 1968 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang Coupe. Includes switch with bracket that goes under the edge of the dash, wiring harness to the accessory plug (for sure on all 1968 Standard and XR7's), long harness to blower motor, and blower motor and grille cover which installs in the rear package tray. Please see your electrical schematic for connection details. Everything has been tested to be in working condition.

*NOTE - Early 1967 Cougars do not have the proper cutout in the rear package tray to accept the blower motor (late 67 does have it). Some cutting would be involved for use in an early 1967 Cougar package tray. We don't know about the 1967 Mustang, but suspect it has the same situation.

This kit could also be used in 1969-70 Cougars and Mustangs, but the switch would be mounted under the edge of the dash. This kit is basically the same as what would have been installed by your local Ford dealer for a large variety of Ford and Mercury cars. Wire length to the blower motor may have to be lengthened for some odd ball or longer wheel base applications.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
