    This rod is unique to 1970 because it was the first year of the lock out rod. Very hard to come by when you consider there was no 390 option for 1970. Notice this rod features two different part numbers.

    Adjustable rod that connects the floor shifter to the big block C-6 automatic transmissions. C6 transmissions only, code "U" on your door data plate tag. 428 Cobra Jet engines were the only Cougar engines to receive the C-6 automatic transmission.

    Shift rod approximately 17-1/2 inches long. Rod with casting number D0ZA-7340-B or D0ZA-7340-C.

    Ford Master Part number D0ZZ-7326-C.
