The patch panel I received was 1 inch to short in length so there was a 1 inch gap between the panel and trunk. After sending back the original panel and receiving a separate one. It was again an inch too short. I was reassured through customer service that the product I originally received was the incorrect dimensions. However after receiving the second one I was then told the product was the correct dimensions as the oem panel which clearly wasn’t the case as it was no where near a correct fit for my car (that is completely stock and all original). So I am now stuck trying to fabricate this panel to fit into my vehicle because my original one is no longer usable and I just wasted 200 dollars plus shipping for this thing that doesn’t even work. Don’t waste your time with this panel and try to patch your original. It will save you a headache you don’t want

   

Good patch, except trim posts

Overall this is a very good patch panel that fits well and seems to have the correct contours and metal gauge. I'm glad this is available to fix the often-rusty rear window area on Cougars. The only issue I had with this is that the posts for the trim clips were weak. When I was installing the clips, most of the posts broke off, so I had to buy several of the repair studs (item 12127) to replace them. It all worked out in the end, but I shouldn't have had to do that.

Minor trimming in places but overall a good fit. Made the job so much easier. Brilliant panel.

Perfect Fit

While not an easy item to fit it certainly makes it easier to repair this often rusted section. I did the job myself following this article http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/paint-body/1407-how-to-replace-a-rusty-trunk-filler-panel/ . Just finished and it looks great.
