Just about the only possible reason to put this poor quality reproduction on your Cougar is that it is a good tool to put out engine fires. No Joke! If you happen to have an engine fire you can carefully open your hood, yank the blanket downward and smother the fire by pushing the blanket tight around the area that is burning. Four required per car. *Tip from Andrew Petyak* Found a good product to clean used vacuum lines. Its called Wide White-from Coker tire (or Wesley's White Wall Bleach). Used to clean whitewall tires. Its safe for rubber with no harsh chemicals in it. Cleans up rad hoses without giving them that shiny look. Put small amount in thick cotton towel and gently pull hose through it.

With today's gas, these commonly fail, especially when sitting for extended periods of time. Complete failure will cause fuel leaks, but many times these will affect performance well before a leak actually starts. Good idea to replace every few years or if sitting for 6 months or more. These original hood blanket clips grip much better than the reproductions. Usually there were 10-11 of these clips used but it can vary from car to car as they tended to be inconsistent at the factory on how many of the available holes they actually stuck a clip into. Sold Individually.
