These plastic backing plates are found on all 71-73 Cougars with standard interior. This used tube with two flared fittings was originally used to connect the flexible pressure hose to the power steering pump on all 1971-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with V8 engines. Ford shows this item in the chassis assembly manuals and it is called a "Pressure Line Outlet Tube Assembly" and the Ford part number is D1ZA-3E576-AC.

This used retaining clip was originally used to connect the two power steering hoses together at the power steering box. Used on all 1971-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with power steering and V8 engines. Originally found on pumps with tags numbered HBA-CG or HBA-CN. *Note - Until we can make a determination, this excludes pump #HBA-CF.
