This high performance alignment kit replaces the factory eccentric bolt and cam that holds the lower control arm to the frame.  The eccentric cam is used for setting wheel camber. This air cleaner assembly never came from the factory on any Cougar, but was an over the counter option available from your Ford dealer. If you have a very nice hood blanket I would think twice before using it in conjunction with this air cleaner assembly as it will leave an imprint. To avoid this problem with small block cars you can use a lower profile carburetor spacer, but on big block cars this is not an option due to the already thin design of the factory carburetor spacer.
