This air cleaner assembly never came from the factory on any Cougar, but was an over the counter option available from your Ford dealer. If you have a very nice hood blanket I would think twice before using it in conjunction with this air cleaner assembly as it will leave an imprint. To avoid this problem with small block cars you can use a lower profile carburetor spacer, but on big block cars this is not an option due to the already thin design of the factory carburetor spacer. Used air cleaner lid for all 1972 H code 351-2V engines. About 14.75 inches in diameter. Ford part number for the air cleaner assembly is D2ZZ-9600-A. The air cleaner lid by itself doesn't have a number.
