New manufactured 4 speed, speedometer cable for use drag pack 1969-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. Has correct end for fitting onto factory gear reducers. Drag pack ring an pinion ratios were 3.91:1 and 4.30:1, which needed a mechanical gear ratio reducer in addition to a normal speedometer gear.Cable Length: 70"
According to the Master Parts Catalog (MPC), any Cougar with a 3.91 or 4.11 rear end and a 4 speed manual would have been equipped with this reducer. Boss 302 and 428 Cobra Jet engines were the only cars that could be ordered with those rear end ratios. The only Cougar that we know came factory equipped with this part is the Cobra Jet. According to the Master Parts Catalog (MPC), any Cougar with a 3.91 or 4.11 rear end and a C-6 would have been equipped with this reducer. Replaces Ford Part #: C8ZZ-17294-A.

Notice that this spring is used with the old-fashioned three-lever spring pressure plates. Modern diaphragm-style clutch pressure plates do not need this spring assistance to push the pedal because the pressure required is even throughout the pedal travel. You may even experience "pedal trap," which means your pedal will stay on the floor board once depressed. Ford Part #: C8OZ-7534-B.

This nice used original part will have no broken tabs as seen on our grade 'B' version. This grade 'A' part will include two metal clip-on spacers as shown. 1970 is the only year 69-73 that Mustang and Cougar column covers interchange. You will need to paint this part to match your interior.
