The Wittek Company manufactured the tower clamps used on the Cougar from 1967 to 1973, the Mustang from 1964 1/2 to 1973, as well as many other Ford and Mercury cars during that period. In October or 1993, the company filed for bankruptcy. This has made the tower clamp unavailable to the classic car restorer. C6OE-9428-A 390-4V factory original cast iron exhaust manifold for passenger side. Even though the photo shows a chamfer where an exhaust donut would go, the proper 1967 manifold would have been cast flush, and a butterfly spacer would have been used. The spacer had a flapper that partially blocked the pipe and allow heat to be dissipated upwards to the choke. Spacers not included. This tube is embedded into the cylinder head making it rather difficult to remove intact. Note that the nut and ferrule assembly is made of two pieces, with the ferrule being a compression fitting used to secure the smog tubes to a series of ports on the cylinder head. Application is for the FE engines 390, 427 428. This assembly is needed for the installation of the cylinder head air supply tubes. Sold as one nut / one ferrule. 8 total needed for smog tube attaching. Originally these were installed in conjunction with a lower tube.

These were installed at the factory on 390 / 427 / 428 equipped cars that were exported to countries that did not require the smog system. They are much shorter than the over the Ford counter service plugs you see in the states that are put on after one removes the smog system.

1967 was the last year for the 3/8"-16 threads. We also carry the J bolt C6OZ-1448-A, and the top plate or disc C5ZZ-1424-A. Wing-nut, spinner. *NOTE* The original 67 wing nut had no protruding tabs in the recessed area as did most of the 1968 - 1973 wing nuts.

If you find that this tube has too small of fittings for your OEM 4150 / 4160 Holley carburetor than what has happened is that someone has replaced your transfer tube and fittings with one of the after-market kits available at speed shops. This is the ONLY correct transfer tube for a Cougar equipped with a Holley from 1967 - 1970.  Ford part # C9AZ-9H576-A.

Used Carter fuel pump lever. From Carter made fuel pump as installed on Ford 352, 390, 410, 427, 428CJ FE engines. Many of the Carter "X" fuel pumps with screw together rebuildable pumps often times have Ford small block levers. Housings are he same.
