Bought new horn bezel to replace my old cracked piece. New chrome bezel makes steering wheel look much nicer. Also bought the wood grain decal overlay. Both very nice upgrade. I recommend both.
I used this on my '68 Standard restoration, knowing full well that this piece is supposed to be satin silver, rather than chrome. But I like the chrome look, and had the little walking cat emblem "chromed" (vacuum plated) to match. The rubbery vinyl center piece that goes inside this trim was a perfect fit. Fitting this piece into the larger foam and vinyl steering wheel pad was a little less than perfect, but good overall. In my case, it fits a bit tight on the sides, so it's not 100% flush. I think this is more due to shrinkage of the 50 year old steering wheel pad than anything else. Overall this is a good replacement piece if you like the chrome look.
I bought this for my all original black interior low mile1968 XR7. I thought it would be a nice upgrade to the original satin one, which was showing it's age. At the same time, I installed WCCC's wood grain overlay decal. The first thing you will notice is that this C8AA bezel reproduction part is bowed end to end (not flat). This causes the ends to bend inward, and that make it too small to accommodate the original wood grain center insert. And then adding the overlay decal, makes it virtually impossible to install correctly. Initially I tried to install it starting on one end and working to the other. Fail. Then I tried installing the ends first, and working to the center. Fail. I would estimate the part is about 1/8 inch too short. After 30 minutes, I tried to force it flat, and the entire bezel broke in half. I would recommend not buying this. Find an original one, and use chrome paint on it.
