Super bright verses original lighting. A bit of trim work on the socket springs to make fit but nothing crazy.
I'm very pleased, overall. As with all things Cougar under the dash, it was a bit of a struggle, but no more so than if I were replacing filament bulbs. I can now see my instruments with ease. On the downside, I can't dim my dash lights using the headlight switch. Even my add-on AutoMeter voltmeter and temperature gauges (not mounted in the dash) no longer dim.WCCC Response:You should be able to dim. Post this at classiccougarcommunity.com and the community can walk you through diagnosing it.

I put in the new LED light in all the usual places. But the gauge cluster lights were not near as bright as expected. Better than what they replaced. But not that much. I did put in new blue diffusers as well. In all the other locations, the LED's were far brighter
Easy install and made all the difference in the world. I can finally see the numbers.
I installed my old incandescent bulbs to make sure dimmer works...it does. The LED's do not dim, they stay bright until voltage drops low enough for them to turn off.
