    Cons:

Upon installation the speedometer indicator dial "bounces" while in operation. I pointed this out to the mechanic that installed the speedometer cable and was advised that this issue is prevalent with aftermarket speedometer cables and there is no guarantee that installing a replacement will fix the issue. The cable is whipping around in the casing.

    WCCC Response:

This is the first time we have heard of this happening with one of the speedometer cables we sell.  The one we sell is higher quality than the cables at the local auto parts stores.  We're out of stock on those at the moment, but we would be happy to exchange that for a new one when we get those back in stock.

    Cons:
    • can be a pain to install due to location
This cable fit perfectly but can be a pain to run through the firewall and install into the transmission.
i found it was easier to install once i had removed the master cylinder from the brake booster (not necessary i had to rebuild my master cylinder). Be sure to reuse the mounting tab for the speedo.
I have not driven my car (ever) so i cannot say how it works but it is in the car.

The best thing about buying from WCCC is Don KNOWS Cougar parts, unlike most sellers on the auction sites, plus you get OEM quality. I should know, I bought what I thought was the right cable on an auction site that claimed it was the right one. Well, it was too short. Not being funny, but 5 inches does make a difference.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
