About:Twenty-seven years ago I bought my first cougar. It was a 1968 blue/grey with a 302, auto. I loved that car!! A couple years after getting it, my sister was in need of transportation so like the fool I am I sold (gave) it to her for $300. What a mistake that was. She wrapped it around a telephone pole and totaled it. Ever since I have wanted another but couldn't find one worth the asking price until almost 4 years ago. I picked up a 1968 XR7 that needed a lot of work. The passenger front was hurting, but I figured I would try to work some magic on it and get it back on the road. Thanks to WCCC it is a dream coming to a reality. I don't have a lot of money so it is slow going but with each new part I get brings my dream closer to reality. I have totally stripped the car inside and out, will be sending it to the frame shop in the next couple of weeks to tweak the frame back and then off to paint. It may take me several more years before it is done the way I want, but hey, I will be able to take pride in knowing that at one point or another I have touched, adjusted, replaced everything on this car and know that it was done right. |
