Used glove compartment lock latch without a key. Fits many Ford cars 1969-73 including Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. Mustangs normally did not have lockable glove boxes, but this will still work. These plastic backing plates are found on all 71-73 Cougars with standard interior. Since most Cougars had decor or XR7 interior we have a limited supply of these and cannot guarantee we can get the color you desire, but we will try to accommodate. Right is the same as left. This actually is a pretty impressive part once installed. It fits snug (very tight) over your existing cracked dash and you affix it by putting silicone around the perimeter. Unlike the 67-70 there is no stitched edge or speaker holes in the 71-3 so it is a perfect candidate for this cover. This little cover glues onto your spoke at 6 o'clock and serves to cover the gap between where your rubber horn switch starts and then stops.
