These barrel nuts or clips are exactly like the original ones inserted into the trunk for attaching 1967-68 "Mercury" script, and 1971-72 Mercury Cougar "Mercury" Hood scripts. The manufacturer indicates that these tubular nuts fit 1/8" holes. Pin size on those emblems are 3/32". These clips are also used to attach the 1967 quarter panel emblems. Late 1971 (4-1-1971) through mid late 1972 Mercury Cougar, approximate cutoff is 3-1-1972. Look for two different things to differentiate the trunk lids. First is the spacing on the bolts to the hinges. This style has a 4-1/4 inch spacing, early 1971 deck or trunk lids have a 3 inch spacing on those hinge bolts. Used distributor modulator thermal switch for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. Originally this switch was mounted in the drivers side door jamb and had a bimetal strip that was calibrated for ambient temperatures between 50 and 58°F. These are bolted to the rear frame rails and were used to tie the car down to the transporter for the journey from the factory to the dealer. The dealer was supposed to remove them and return them for a credit as instructed by the dealer. Notice the sticker on the rear license plate frame (decal is available in the decal section)? Fuel tank spacer. Welds to the bottom side of the trunk pan. Spaces the tank, so that the fuel vapor separator assembly, isn't pinched. Easy to make these stands, and there are two needed, are approximately 1-1/2 inches tall. Strap is 1-1/8 inches wide.

Ground wire for convertible pump motor. Short wire section that attaches to the pump motor and grounds to the chassis of any 1969-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. Easy to copy, #10 gauge wire about 11-1/2 inches long. Two ring terminals attached. Easy peasy.

Reproduction tips and screws for your convertible top welt. It's the strip that goes across the top back side of the convertible top. These are the decorative tips that go on each end of the welt.Each kit includes two tips and two screws.

Located at the base of the quarter window and mounted horizontally on XR7 convertible models only. Bolt for the under side convertible plate on any 1969-73 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. 6 total bolts needed for attaching reinforcement plate to undercarriage. Sold individually. These are a close match to the original bolts, which are 3/8-16 x 1-1/2". Ford tightening specs. are 25-38 lbs. ft. torque.Replaces Ford number 57048-S2.
