Typically, this cover would be found on U code C6's, from 1971-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs with M or Q code 351C-4V engines and 351CJ engines. Ford casting number D1OP-7D027-AA.

Typically, this cover would be found on U code C6's, from 1971-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs with H code 351C-2V engines. Ford casting number C8VP-7D027-C.*Note - Not to be confused with X code FMX transmission which were more common on the H code 351C-2V engines from 1971-73.

Get a grip with this reproduction Hurst T handle, or shifter handle. This 1971 model is without the set-screw as found on the 1970 shifter handle. To make this handle correct for 1970, you need to drill and tap for a set screw.Ford part # D1OZ-7213-A. Check out this video

Good used part no heavy pitting on the chrome, we sell these levers with installed cable, pawl, spring, and gear release assembly.
