Clean cores are required for this service, cores that are turned in for this service that are kinked, heavily pitted or mouldings with several holes drilled into them are not worth restoring. That being said, often all of the gravel pitting usually found at the front cannot completely be removed as it would result in a product that will be too thin.

Copper washers like the OEM Ford installed washers. Takes 10 washers total for both 8 and 9 inch rear ends. *Tip - It is a good idea to inspect or replace your old washers, many times they have tool marks from the housing or nuts that cause small troublesome leaks.
