Fits all 1971-72 Mercury Cougar and Cougar convertible models. Sometime in 1972, the hole spacing for the trunk lid changed from 3 inches to 4-1/4 inches spacing. Threaded anchor that slides into the trunk hinge on each side. Sold individually, two needed per car. These are for Cougar and Mustang built after approximately 3/31/1971. These are bolted to the rear frame rails and were used to tie the car down to the transporter for the journey from the factory to the dealer. The dealer was supposed to remove them and return them for a credit as instructed by the dealer. Notice the sticker on the rear license plate frame (decal is available in the decal section)? Fuel tank spacer. Welds to the bottom side of the trunk pan. Spaces the tank, so that the fuel vapor separator assembly, isn't pinched. Easy to make these stands, and there are two needed, are approximately 1-1/2 inches tall. Strap is 1-1/8 inches wide.
