1970 Mercury Cougar

This is for your automatic transmission 1970 Cougar. The 70 is unique over the 69 in that it does not have a provision for your seat belt buckles. This part requires an additional woodgrain bezel that affixes to the top, we also have one listed that does not require the additional bezel.  *Note - This console part does have pre-drilled holes for installing the woodgrain top pieces. Left side axle, 28 spline 27-1/16 inch length. For both 8 inch and 9 inch rear ends. Ships with used bearing, bearing retainer plate, and 5 pressed in wheel studs.*Note Boss 302 and 428 CJ equipped Cougars came with heavy duty 31 splined axles.

Bare housing with proper axle pad spacing, vent location, and brake line attaching. For all 1970 Cougars. Over-sized shipping length. Housing overall width - 54-1/4 inches flange to flange. Spring perches are 43 inches apart on center. Axles needed: Passenger side - 31-1/8 inches long, Driver side 27 inches long.

OEM style nut to hold the axle U-bolt to the axle. Fine threaded like originals 7/16-20 grade 5. Will not fit some reproduction U-bolts. Sometimes these are called shock plate bolts. Replaces Ford part # 379244-S

Used pair of 31 spline axles for the 68 - 70 Cougar or Mustang, equipped with the Boss 302, 427 and 428 CJ engines all with 9 inch rear axles. Most all other vehicles used 28 spline axles. Short axle 27-1/16" inches long and long axle 31-1/8" inches long. Ford part numbers C9OZ-4234-C and C9OZ-4234-D. Ships with used bearing, bearing retainer plate, and 5 pressed in wheel studs.

Don't throw away those panels just because the backing boards are broken and warped! You cannot buy reproduction panels for the 67-70 Mercury Cougar, but you can buy this pair of backer boards. If your vinyl is good, then you will want to put the work into them. These are not a quick fix, they do take time to install but the end result is worth it. Plastic baffle for the instrument cluster on any 1969-70 Standard Model or XR7 Mercury Cougar. This is for the HiBeam indicator bulb, and both right and left turn signals. There are a total of 3 of these plastic baffles for a 1969-70 Cougar. Ford part number C9WY-10A990-A .

Oil pan baffle as found on all 1969-70 Ford and Mercury products with R or Q code 428CJ or 428SCJ engines. This baffle is sandwiched between the oil pan and the block.
