The only Cougar that we know came factory equipped with this part is the Cobra Jet. According to the Master Parts Catalog (MPC), any Cougar with a 3.91 or 4.11 rear end and a C-6 would have been equipped with this reducer. This is a part that we will probably never have on hand, but would love to document. If you have one of these adapters, we would be interested in being able to put detailed pictures of it on this listing. Please let us know. We hope to have a reproduction of this adapter...
Used steering wheel tension spring used in the tilt / tilt away steering column found in the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. One required per car. Keeps tension on the steering wheel shaft so as to keep the steering wheel from contacting the upper column cover. Rebuilt steering gear box with 16:1 ratio and 1-1/8 inch sector shaft. The only difference between SMB-F or SMB-K is the tag and inclusion of the Pitman arm. This is a SMB-F tagged steering box.To be honest, we will seldom have this steering box in stock. We recommend that you purchase the SMB-K steering box, and exchange your SMB-F steering box tag. Good used wheel with no cracks but will show wear on the woodgrained fascia. We usually have several wheels for $20-$100 more and $20-$100 less than the wheel pictured here. Most are black in color but we do have a few colored wheels. Call for the many details and options. Check out this video
A grade pad has not shrunk to the point that the center section will not fit well, it will not be curling and overall will be pliable. We rarely have more than a couple colors on hand but if you state your preference in the comments section we will try to accommodate.
Our grade "B" rods are just as straight as our grade "A" used rods but the will show pock marks from rust after you clean them. One can fill and sand but it will take time. These are still a better value than the Chinese rods we sell.*Note - 1970-73 strut rods work equally well.
