The screws that came with the mirror would not hold, but these are made to give you years use.

Fit great but I should have ordered extra as I ruined one...

First nut went in great, tightened up and the tool kit worked very well. second one threads were incorrect, did not work and I had to drill it out.

Used rivnut install kit to fit.

1 rivnut was hard to crimp up second one was easy, just like install video

Mirror fitted very firm.

I'm giving 5 stars, because I think this would work had I not drilled my holes bigger to fit the rubber nuts. I first drilled holes to use the rubber compression nuts and they worked great. I took the mirror off when we painted the car and ripped them. I tried to then upgrade the metal ones and they are too small for the holes I have.

If you already have rubber nuts, you can't easily go to the metal ones. both work fine.

This was an easy and very secure way to mount the outside mirror. I did use the suggestion of purchasing the inside threaded insert tool from Harbor Freight for $25.00 in order to install the inserts. It worked great and highly recommend using both the mounting g kit and tool for mounting your outside mirrors.

Never heard of these riv nuts until I saw the WCCC tutorial vid. As we all know the Ford factory knows best (St. Henry be praised) and these factory style attachments are super and inexpensive. If you are worried about your expensive sport mirrors flying off, here’s the cure.

What are the best investments I Made for my car

The riv-nuts work great. I also got the little install kit with 2 nuts/washers and allen wrench/screw, and after fumbling to hold 2 wrenches while turning the third, hopped in the car and went to harbor freight and got the install tool. Made the job much easier.
