I installed the flasher unit and the taillight sequential unit in my 70 cougar at the same time and now the blinkers work correctly. It takes a bit of effort to replace the flasher and find a good ground due to the location near the radio but its but its worth it.

Turn signals were operating intermittently. Replaced all parts to get it working. Problem was the switch in the steering column.
Restored operation to original specifications.
It took care of the problem right away. all the lights at the rear now have the same glow. the instuksjon was spot on. I found eacy where the original unit was located. but test that the Connections are fastend. One of mine came loose, and i had to fix it. but its a greate Product and Highley recomanded.
The material, fit and craftsmanship on this item met my expectations. The product came with some helpful instructions on how to locate the old unit and to correctly install the new unit. The old unit was a green round cylinder. The new unit is square, however it was easily replaced and is hidden behind the dash. Very pleased with the performance of the new unit. The timing of the sequential operation is slower.
Will only flash the tail lights sequentially when the park or driving lights are off. Only the light closest to the licence plate flashes when the lights are on.
The signals on my '71 were acting flaky - one side seemed slow, the other needed to be manually clicked on and off, and in combination with braking and headlights I had a couple complaints from other motorists, to the point I didn't trust them for night driving. So I replaced both the board in the trunk and this unit, and together they solved it all. I put off installing for a while thinking I might switch to plasma, but honestly, good bulbs and a fully working system made a big difference in both reliability and visibility. There could be better instructions on the install, which is really easy. The screws for the panel are above, and right at the front of the glove box. It's a metal panel with several modules attached. Once the screws are out it comes right down. Mine had a square-shaped holder for the flasher unit, and the new box was too large for a good fit. Once I anchored the ground with a nut and bolt I'm sure it won't move enough to worry about.
