These extensions work great. They provide a much needed extra amount of leg room for the driver especially if your Cougar doesn’t have a tilt steering column. I didn’t cut my OEM seat bolts but instead used hex head 5/16-18 bolts to install the extensions onto the seat track. I also used blue threadlocker since the holes for the nuts don’t allow access to tightening once they get down to the extension.
Don's video convinced me to try this solution to be able to get my thighs past the steering column (no, haven't gained weight could be I'm not as flexible after leukemia treatment 7 years ago?). The extra 2 inches the video showed was exactly what I needed instead of installing a tilt steering wheel. The product delivers as advertised, and as usual Don's video was a great help, no issues installing the tracks other than one of the front studs came a little above the track (plenty of clearance, not a problem) maybe because the teflon tape Don suggested as one of 3 options didn't hold as well as the first one. This is a great product that seems to be not too costly.
