Wow what a nice addition to the car. This is a great quality product, just watch the video and it is simple to install.

Made very well and matched the drivers side. Buy the threaded insert rivet kit and do the install correctly. Don has a video on you tube.

1968 Cougar- 3 speed manual

I’m using my car as a driving car so I wanted the added safety of the passenger side view mirror. The instructions were clear and the installation was straightforward.

       

Balanced Reflectivity

Growing up I was always bothered by having one outside mirror only on the driver side. It seemed only high class cars or race cars had one on the passenger side. When I finally got my license and my first car, I made sure there were mirrors on both sides. Eventually owning a 1973 Mustang fastback and later a 1971 Mach I, having a passenger side mirror was crucial. I found it odd the 1967 Cougar only had a driver side mirror being I had always thought of it as a classy car.



Therefore, putting this passenger side mirror on my Cougar was like putting the finishing touch on a piece of art. She looks balanced now, classy, and confident.



The quality of the assembly is great. Adjustments are easily made. It comes with the mirror portion upside down which is easily fixed by removing one screw and rotating it. Be sure to adjust and tighten the housing side-to-side before mounting to the door.



I know Don talks about the crappy quality of the gasket; however, the gasket that came with mine and embossed with the Scott Drake logo was very flexible and nicely compliant; having the proper shape, good thickness and a good lip around the edge that conformed to the mirror base. It may be they upgraded the gaskets since the time Don made the video.



I am very pleased with how this turned out and would recommend this to any early Cougar owner in need of that extra mirror security and “classy” look.

I bought a set both side mirrors. They are gorgeous! They look fantastic, fit perfectly, and are obviously good quality parts. The only reason I graded the correctness down is because they didn't make a passenger side mirror like this in 1968. They should have, it looks great!!!!
