Description

Used to block light from escaping around shifter stem seal. Fits 1969-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang as well as 1971+ Pinto, Bobcat, Maverick, and Comet with floor shift automatic transmissions. The 90 degree notched portion straddles the set screw on the cast light housing. Most shifters (almost all) we see do not have this part in place any longer. Ford part number C9ZZ-7E130-A.

Note: This fits perfectly on the shifters we have tried, but several customers have commented that it was too tight and they needed to file the hole slightly larger to fit the diameter of their shift lever.

This product is so much better than the original plastic material but there is a problem with the bore. Even if you clean the shifter shaft this product did NOT slide down easily on the shifter stem, it actually broke the angled plate off and I had to order a new one, which I took a small round file to to make the hole slightly bigger. After this it slipped on well.
