Reproduction aluminum shift indicator console overlay for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. Although a brushed finish is correct, this reproduction has a coarser brush stroke when compared to the originals and is a bit dull. We recommend a quick polish to make them look closer to the finish of the originals.

These fit well, and unless you put them up against an original, it is hard to tell the finish is slightly different.

This installs around your console indicator light lenses. The easiest and most effective way to install this overlay is with a little clear silicone to stick it in place.

This plate looks exactly like the original, but sans dents and not falling off.

It was strangely hard to remove from the vacuum-sealed plastic packaging. Be careful not to bend or dent yours when you remove it! These are soft aluminum (exactly like the original). I had to use a sharp knife and a small pointy Philips head screwdriver to peel up the well-adhered clear covering from the cardboard backing. If you aren't careful, any hard metal object will readily scratch or mar the plate.

I used Gorilla spray-on adhesive on the back of my plate to stick it on the shift bezel. Don't use too much or you'll never be able to clean out the goo around the shift select PRND21 lenses.
