Fits all 1967-68 Mercury Cougar and 1967-69 Ford Mustang cars with transmission code W on the door tag. Used tube with a tapered end for the vacuum modulator on 1967-68 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang with drum brakes and C4 or automatic transmission, but without power drums or power disc brakes. Typically, this cover would be found on C4's, with Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs with C code 289-2V, A code 289-4V, or F code 302-2V engines. Cover only, marked C6AP-7D027-C.

Designed as a direct-fit OE-style replacement, this modulator valve will fit directly into the factory location of your current Cougar or Mustang valve. Also known as the throttle valve, this valve controls vacuum to the transmission as you press the gas pedal, and it will apply higher control pressure for better quality shifts at higher RPMs.
