    Description

Reproduction BLACK Headliner with Sunroof for the 1969 and 1970 Mercury Cougar. Two piece kit, one piece for the headliner, and a second piece for covering the sunroof panel.

On early production cars Ford pulled the cars off the assembly line to sent them to ASC Golde for install. Golde used 3 bows for installing the headliner, whereas in later production Ford used 2 bows when installing them on the assembly line. These headliners are for 2 bows installations. If you have 3 bows, you will need to order a standard headliner, then cut it to fit.

Check out our video below showing how to install one of these bow-type headliners. This was done by a pro, but it's a job you can do yourself with some patience and basic knowledge.

    Pros:
    • Good quality headliner
    Cons:
    • 2 vs. 3 bows Golde vs. Ford
The quality of this headliner is good, but it wouldn't fit my 69 base Cougar factory sun roof application. I ordered this kit, sat on it until I was ready to install it, laid it out on my floor to relax, then found it had 2 bow pockets between the rear of the sun roof panel and back window instead of 3 like mine. I called WCCC, they looked into it and said my car was an early production (MAY,1969) when Ford still pulled the cars off the assembly line to send them to ASC Golde for install. Golde used 3 bows for install whereas Ford used 2 when they later when they started installing them on the line. I was forced to return this liner, reorder a standard headliner, then cut and fit it. Count your bows before ordering and call WCCC to verify!!!

    Pros:
    • Nice quality. Correct color.
    Cons:
    • Not enough ribs for bows.
Nice quality, but only had 2 ribs for the bows instead of 3 that I needed. Had to reorder a headliner without sunroof and cut it out around existing seams.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
