    Description

Reproduction metal rear deck / trunk lid moulding / trim clip for the Mercury Cougar. This clip comes with a correct looking nut and works with the 1967-68 aluminum trim and the 1969-70 stainless steel trim. This unit measures about 1-7/8" long with a stud height of about 3/4". 7 clips needed per trunk lid. Note that this clip features a stud that is a little longer than what was factory. If you have a swollen lip (rust) on your deck this will be an advantage to you, if not you will have to arch (bend) the clip to make the stud recess into the trim a little. Another option would be to cut a little from the length of the stud.

    Pros:
    • This kit is great!
    • Fit like a glove
    • Acorn nuts appear to chrome
    Cons:
    • Should sell this with moulding
This fastener kit is great. Fit like a glove and the acorn nuts look to be almost chromed. For the price, this kit should be automatically added when a new deck/trunk moulding is sold.

    Pros:
    • Look good
    Cons:
    • Have to trim studs.
I forgot that the studs are long on these and the acorns started separating when tightened. One came completely off. I put the nuts in a vise to squeeze the acorns back on. Then I trimmed the studs about 1/8" using threaded cutters. They worked great after that.

    Pros:
    • stainless steel which will last forever
    Cons:
    • Threaded stud a bit to long
Quality product as usual. The threaded stud was a bit to long as stated. I put a stainless steel washer between the acorn nut and the trunk to make up the difference.

    Pros:
    • better than nothing
    Cons:
    • inferior materials
Function was good but every hex cap cover fell off with next to no tightening. It did not matter in my case since concourse correctness was not necessary.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
