These plugged into the rear tail lights easily and worked perfectly without upgrading the flasher. When the headlights switched on, these are a little brighter. The brake lights, however, are significantly brighter. You could see the reduced drain on the ammeter when comparing before and after this switch. Eases the load on the finicky headlight switch internal breaker.
I got this for my turn signal/brake lights. Love them!!! What a difference. Highly recommend these.
These new led plasma bulbs are much brighter that the regular bulbs and they plugged right in with no hassle.
This is a great product to replace the 1157 bulb but as we found out in a stock 1972 cougar xr7 in order to get the lights to work we had to also order the Sequential tail light unit and also replace the under - unit but now that we have it's a phenomenal product and works like you would not imagine. I ordered this for my father's cougar and he is so thrilled with the product that he changed all his lights to the plasma bulb
These bulbs are indescribable. They are so much better than the incandescent bulbs. When I arrived them, one was broken at the base, but it was probably just a shipping problem. I called WCCC about it, and they sent me a replacement instantly, no questions asked! I love WCCC!
As advertised. Huge difference. Quick delivery and fit was perfect. This is why I shop WCCC.
Received my plasma bulbs and before installing them I took the opportunity to clean the lens and grill . While I was at it i steel wired the inside and then applied 2 coats of tremclad white paint . 2 reasons really - 1 was to clean it up ( no rust inside but just faded and not really appealing ) and the second reason was to make the bulbs / lights shine a bit more from the white background. So I popped in the bulbs and all I can say is that they really make a difference. I recommend these to replace those old bulbs and you will be pleased.
About the hardest part of installing these 1157 replacements was to remember that the sockets the bulbs fit in do have to be looked at and put back in as they came out, as they do have a notched prong (missing) as a key-way slot for installation of the socket (& new bulb). They look very well made, easy to handle, very bright, and most importantly No DIMMING Of The FRONT HEADLIGHTS When STEPPING On The BRAKES!
I bought two complete systems with the solid state sequencers and flashers for my boys' 69 and 70s because I was concerned about the relative visibility of the old incandesents. My mind is now at ease these are as bright as the racetrack led's on my newer car, and react instantly to brake pedal pressure. I would say visibility is increased by at least double or even triple over original. plus the power draw is noticeably less. Still bright even with headlights on full bright.
I got a 67 & a 69 setup. The 67 requires replacing 6 bulbs and "item" under the dash. Not the easiest thing to do. The 69 was very easy. Replace the "brain" board in the trunk box & 6 bulbs. The total time for both cars was approx. The result was amazing on the 67. At first it does seem too bright. But after driving around in traffic I noticed most people kinda hang back. Not as much "tailgating". Even got a thumbs up from a New Mustang. The 69/70 sequence in a defined pattern- digital as opposed to the "afterglow" of incandescent bulbs.
