This is an accurate reproduction of the tie down notice decal that was placed on the rear license plate frame. This was to remind dealers to remove the tie down plates that were used to secure the cars to the transport trains / trucks on their way from the factory to the dealers. Ford wanted to recycle these plates to save money, but dealers often didn't feel it was worth their time to remove the plates. Thus, many cars still have them. Check yours out! ...

Controversy abounds on which shrouds received these and which did not. It is our understanding that no early Cougars came from the factory with this decal installed. This decal first surfaced when Ford had major problems with their flex fans in the early 1970's. We will let you decide if it is correct for your application... Replaces Ford part #C8AZ-6223362-A. Sold in pairs, four required per car, used on most Ford products. We often get calls like "How do I remove my front window cranks?" Unlike the rear cranks that are held on by an Allen set screw, the fronts have a Phillips screw under this decal. If you are careful, often you can reuse your original and glue it back in place.

This decal can be used to overlay your replacement oil filter, so it looks more like a vintage original oil filter. Research indicates that the gold was primarily used on 66 and earlier, as was the red. Clip or X-washer for attaching the emergency brake lever inside the rear brake drum. Fits 8 and 9 inch rear axles. Literally used on most all Ford products from 1965-73 and likely beyond. Also called a retainer for the parking brake lever pin. The long ears get squeezed with a good set of pliers for attaching. Good Used Clock Harness for the 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang Mach 1. Wiring harness, or pigtail that goes from the back of the clock to the main under dash wiring harness, and ashtray light socket and shroud. The Mustang wiring harness for the clock generally does not include the light socket for the ashtray.
