Have not welded in yet fit is good , I really think these will make a difference
These plates improved the handling of my car, along with replacing 55 year old steering components makes driving now a wonderful experience.
My used 1969 Mustang Convertible (302) had multiple cracks in the LH shock tower due to the upper control arm making very slight contact with the shock tower. The area of contact was the front radius of the forward end of the pivot shaft. The rubbing was slight but the cracks severe. I welded them all up and installed these plates. 5 years later, no further cracks or welded crack propagation. If you cant weld, remove your suspension, clean the area up and have a local mobile welder install them. Then get a Monte Carlo bar. Some trimming by a bench grinder may be required to get a really good fit. Once in place, bang it hard with a hammer and "set" it into the chassis for welding. This is a must have for 50 year old cars.
I baught these to strenghten my shock towers due to me installing more power under the hood together with some beefier tires. This is "just 2 plates of steel" but they fit perfect.
I'm adding these reinforcement plates to my big block 67 Cougar -- an inexpensive way to stiffen and reinforce the shock towers while restoring the car. They fit perfectly.
I had these plates welded in to improve the handling and it was one the of best addition to my Cougar. Thank you for the YouTube video I saw it on.
Installed with ease and the fit is perfect. Makes a are difference in how the car handles.
Nicely secured my shock towers. What a great idea for structure integrity.
Haven't installed yet but hoping to improve handling looks like they will do a good job.
