Installed this Export Brace and Mounting bracket to my 68. These items along with sub frame connectors and new shocks improved the ride and durability of support overall of the entire car. Took for a test drive the other day over rough roads and they performed better than I expected.
I just installed the export brace on my '70 Cougar. After I got all the holes lined up with the shock tower posts, it all fell into place perfectly. The brace definitely stiffened up the car and handling is very much improved. I recommend all Cougar owners install this part to improve handling and appearance.
I just bought one for my 67 cougar and theres at least a inch an 1/2 gap of it over lapping my shock towers... how can i make this thing fit?? other than that its a very good product, well built just wont fit my car because how much flex there is
The brace is strong and finish is top notch. The fit is a little lacking as the bolt hole did not line up and required some "persuasion" to make the brace fit down on the shock towers. Once in place it looks and fits the part.WCCC Response:This is not an issue of the export brace. The export braces fit perfectly, the issue is that 99% of all cars have sagged since they left the factory and the shock towers will need to be spread in most cases to make the export brace fit correctly.

Very impressed with the quality of this piece. The depth and sharpness of the stamping along with the thickness of the steel makes this a very solid brace. Also like that you can tell if your shock towers have sagged by the way it fits. Truly deserves the word "Premium" that is in the description.
I loved this product, although I was nervous to see if it fit ..my new shocks and this new export brace made a huge difference that was I was not expecting !!!
Excellent....must have product.
this brace feels really nice, and it when on pretty easy. I just jacked the car up at the cross member behind the oil pan and it fit perfect.
Very strong and durable. Can't go wrong with this item
After watching the video and reading all reviews I decided to take a chance and buy this since you can't beat the price! I may never see the benefit of reduced roll while cornering, since that's not my driving style, but I often go with Don's recommendations if he says it's an improvement. Apparently I have no issues with my shock towers, since the brace actually fit without much "persuading". Be aware that you need to remove the shock tower covers since the new brace is a complete circle using all 3 mounting studs instead of the original open style that only uses 2 studs. I lined up the 4 cowl bolt holes first by using screwdrivers to keep the bracket and cowl holes aligned while I worked on the shock tower mounts. It helps to know that the mounting studs can be moved a bit to allow alignment into the brace mounting holes at both shock towers. With just a little effort all fasteners were installed without any major issues, so Don is right that the brace is not the problem if it doesn't fit, it's your car. I just got lucky that my car had no issues with the shock towers, otherwise I can see how this would be a struggle to get everything aligned. Good product, very sturdy and well-made, excellent value for the price!
