This kit fit well and it does its job well. I took off one star for craftsmanship because it seems kind of primitive to use a vice grip on the threads to install the studs. Just on principal I used 2 small hex nuts to double nut it and use a nut driver.
Had to put these on the second I got them.....difference was night and day - never thought my grill would line up that good, and it only took about 5 minutes to install. Obviously couldn't give 5 stars for correctness, but no modifications to the car are required, so no problems there. Great idea - works wonders!!!
This eye lid bump stop kit is absolutely perfect for someone not worried about being factory correct, yet wants their eye lids to be even. It only took a few minutes to install, and the results were perfect.
A nice cheap, easy solution to get near perfect headlight door alignment.

It works as advertised. It sort of helps me not notice my grille misalignment, which is such a pet-peeve of mine. you can match up the eyelid doors almost perfectly with the center grills OR the outside grilles, but not both.
Don and WCCC came up with a great solution with the Grille Headlight Eyelid Bump Stop / Alignment Kit - New ~ 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougar; Helps out with the eyelid issue. Not 100% fixed, but gets you to a good spot. As always, thank you Don and whole WCCC team for helping me out with this.
You can not beat these, sure they are not correct but I would rather have my grille remain straight after all the hard work straightening it out in the first place. One could source all these parts from the local hardware store but for 6 bucks its not worth the time or effort! Just buy the kit and spend 5 mins installing! Every cougar owner needs a set of these and now has no reason to have a misaligned grille!
