    Description

Nice reproduction of the prop rod used on the 1970 Eliminator. This will work on any 1967 - 1973 Cougar that has had a spoiler installed. The pictures of the installed original prop rod were taken at the 2008 PROWL Cougar show hosted by Cascade Cougar Club. The concours correct BOSS 302 Eliminator pictured is owned by John Benoit in Edgewood Washington.

The above picture shows the approximate location of where to drill the hole in the passenger side rear quarter extension.  Don't worry about exact location here as they have a wide range of where they have been documented to have been found on original cars.

Notice the small alignment hole drilled in addition to the mounting hole for the mounting screw.

    Pros:
    • Great accessory
    Cons:
    • Tricky to install
A great accessory for weak trunk springs or for those with spoilers. Tricky to install, because once you drill the holes, you're committed.

    Pros:
    • exact original replacement
    Cons:
    • very flexible when being used
The rod, as installed right out of the package, would bow a lot when holding the trunk lid up. Had a friend at a machine shop harden it to see if it would take some of the flex out of it. After getting it back, I buffed it back to it's shiny appearance. The rod looks great, and has almost no flex when holding all of that weight up.

    Pros:
    Cons:
I received the prop rod and there were NO instillation Instructions included. I went to the WCCC web site and found some pictures but they were no real obvious as to locations. Good thing I used to own a 69 Mustang Mach1 and it had the prop rod installed so I had an Idea on where and how it should function. Maybe a video or Instructions would be helpful. The clip that holds the rod is also made kinda cheaply and bends easily.

WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...
