    2 Cougar / 2 Mustang Applications

    Description

Reproduction disc brake distribution block and proportioning valve assembly for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang with factory disc brakes. This will also work on your 1968 - 1969 Fairlane / Torino / Montego / Ranchero / Cyclone & Cobra equipped with power disc brakes in the front if you carefully remove the wedged on stamped steel mounting bracket and reuse your original bracket. Mounts to the driver side fender apron with two nuts. With this assembly you will get a distribution block, brake switch, proportioning valve, and two hard steel lines as shown.

*Note - This reproduction distribution block / proportioning valve assembly has updated components inside and the classic rebuilding kit will not work in these units.

    Replaces Ford part # C8ZZ-2B257-A.

    Question

Are you sure the line connection as in the picture are correct?

Rear Bowl rear brakes on the picture is wrong?

Front Bowl Front brakes also wrong?

I have google online for the right mounting of the brake fluid lines and it is opposite.

Like I have mounted for over 25 years, can be that it is for this unit opposite?

    WCCC Admin Answered:

I asked the owner and he said he is pretty certain that the diagram is correct. We created the diagram to document how one of our staff installed this unit on his car during a complete rebuild (https://forum.classiccougarcommunity.com/t/the-snowball-saga-68-standard-revitalization-project/1085).

Not sure about absolute authenticity from a concours standpoint (finish, markings, etc) but the parts basically look just like the originals, fit perfectly, and worked as designed. Good product.

Distribution block and proportioning valve assembly looks just like original. I have installed it and it fits perfectly. I have not finished with project so can speak for functionally yet but expect it to work great like the apparent craftsmanship of this item.
