This reproduction is pathetic... It's made from the same material as a cheap picnic table cloth (you know, the red checkered ones?) The only way you will ever get this plastic "table cloth type" mat to lay flat is to glue it down. They do however work well for catching oil spills under your Cougar when turned felt side up. Reproduction trunk wheel house seam cover for the Ford Mustang. I have actually never seen an original pair of these on a car, but they do serve a purpose if you are in the habit of cramming your trunk full of items you do not want scratched. These attach to the protruding seam where the inner and outer wheelhouse bond together and measure about 14" in length. You will have to modify these to fit your Cougar. Only sold in black. Spare Tire Mount Wing Nut Reproduction for the 1968 through 1973 Mercury Cougar / Ford Mustang

For 1968 Ford standardized or changed all of the J-bolt threads to the beefier 1/2"-13. We have noted two variations of this wing nut. The most obvious identifier between the two is the tabs in the center. The majority have these tabs present, the minority do not. We also stock and carry the correct disc or hold down plate, and the J bolt. Lots of sizes and lengths for those. Do you have the correct one?

This is the factory Ford remote trunk latch as used on luxury cars such as Thunderbird or Lincoln. As you can see from the photo, they are made (and install) exactly like our Cougar trunk latches, but with the addition of a release tab. These can be installed to use either a cable, vacuum, or solenoid release.

This is a good used, grade A deck lock housing with nothing included except the studs. There will be no major blemishes or pitting and the cover stop in the bottom corner is intact. Nice used original Rotunda, over the counter dealer accessory. Stainless steel construction, weighs just under 8 pounds with hardware. Factory spare tire hold down bolt for 1969-70 Mercury Cougar convertibles with style steel wheels. Note the felt and jack placement. Overall length 12-1/4 inches. As always, the threads are 1/2"-13.

Unique to 1970 convertible only. Only with stock steel wheels and hubcaps. J bolt MPC lists the length as 6-1/4 inches, with 4 inches on the end threaded but actually there are only 2 1/2" on the threads. Threads 1/2-13.

1971 - 1973 Convertible spare tire mounting, J bolt. MPC lists the total length as 9-1/2 inches long, and 5 inches threaded. Application is for hubcap type wheels only, those of you fortunate to have the style steel wheels need C8OZ-1448-A above.

For all 1969 Mercury Cougar trunks. The MPC lists the correct length as 8-3/4 inches in total length, with 4 inches of the end being threaded but we have found without fail them to be about 10 3/4" with about 3" of threads. I say "about because some have a blunt end while other versions have a tappered end which will add about 1/8" to the length. Those threads are 1/2-13.

3 1/8" Style Steel Wheel Spare Tire Hold Down. Available in Black or Chrome. Ford Master Parts Catalog indicates that this hold down was found on some 68 and 69 Cougars with SS Wheels. You may need to bend the ears in slightly to get them to fit properly inside the hole in the center of the wheel. Replaces Ford Part #: C8MY-1424-A.
